SW Charter Students Take Inaugural Ride on Max Orange Line

New Tilikum Crossing Bridge.

SW Charter students got a special opportunity to be some of the very first Max passengers across the new Tilikum Crossing Bridge. The Bridge, which formally opens in September, is built specifically for mass transit, bike and pedestrian use and will open new field work opportunities on the east side for our students. The entire school, all K-8 students, rode across the bridge, exited at the Clinton Street station, reboarded the Max, and arrived back at our local stop. What fun!

Happy riders on the Max’s new Orange Line.

More happy riders!

Grades 5-8 listen to a pedestrian safety talk from an OHSU employee as they wait to board the train.
